It’s something we’ve been busy working away on for many months now. Something we’re very excited about and rather proud of. But – most importantly of all – it’s something else that we’ve created to help you save time, money and hassle when it comes to tax and Self Assessment.
What are we talking about? Our brand new six-part podcast series – Tax Tea Break with GoSimpleTax. It’s the first time we’ve produced a podcast, so it’s been a steep learning curve for us, although it’s been an enjoyable journey.
We’ve also been driven by a desire to create something that’s distinctly different, something that complements this very blog, that also enables us to bring reliable, concise, accessible tax and Self Assessment tips to a much wider audience – at a time when people and businesses really need it.
Which topics are covered in Tax Tea Break?
Many of us love podcasts and their popularity continues to grow significantly. About 20 million people in the UK now listen to podcasts (this number is expected to reach 28 million come 2026), with a reported 59% of the UK population having already listened to a podcast at some point. People in the UK mostly listen to podcasts while commuting or travelling, with 79% now listening to podcasts via their smartphones.
Our brand new podcast is hosted by Mark Williams, a leading start-up, small-business and tax content expert with more than 25 years’ experience. Mark’s joined by a range of tax experts who share their insight on a specific topic. They include Mike Parkes and Aiden Corcoran, two of GoSimpleTax’s very own highly experienced tax and Self Assessment experts.
Each 20-minute episode (we’ve deliberately kept it concise and to-the-point) has its own subject and these are:
- Episode 1 – Tax expenses you can claim if you’re a sole trader.
- Episode 2 – The expats’ guide to managing UK tax.
- Episode 3 – Tax expenses you can claim if you’re a private landlord.
- Episode 4 – How to avoid common Self Assessment tax return mistakes.
- Episode 5 – How to complete your Self Assessment tax return in 6 simple steps.
- Episode 6 – Making Tax Digital – key facts for sole traders and private landlords.

Expect essential guidance, not boring technical stuff that you don’t need to know. Expect reliable, real-world guidance from experts who know what they’re on about. And, best of all – it’s all FREE.
Whether you’re a sole trader, private landlord, expat Brit or someone else who pays tax via Self Assessment, the whole point of the Tax Tea Break podcast series is to arm you with valuable know-how that saves you time, money and hassle when it comes to tax and Self Assessment.
