What is an SA104 form?

The SA104 is a supplementary tax form for filing Partnership pages on your Self Assessment tax return.

Do I need to fill out an SA104 form?

You will need to fill out an SA104 if you at any point during the tax year, you were entitled to a share of the profits, losses or income from a business which you carried out in a partnership.

All partners are jointly responsible for the filing of this form, and there are penalties for not doing so. If the Partnership Tax Return is not submitted on time, each partner may be subject to an automatic £100 initial penalty.

How do I fill in the SA104 form?

You can find the SA104 here. It’s helpful to have your Partnership Tax Return (SA800) when starting, as it includes a summary of your earnings on the Partnership Statement.

You must complete a form for each of the partnerships you were a member of and for each partnership business.

If more than one Partnership statement was given for the same partnership, you must report the statements on separate Partnership forms.

Each individual partner will need to be informed of their share of profit and losses, and then provide this information on their own Self Assessment tax return.

The HMRC provides detailed guidelines for each line item on the form.
